I spent 10 nights in Krabi, and I’ll let you in on a little secret: the best food isn’t in the restaurants. It’s sizzling on a grill under the stars. After a day at the beach, the real soul of Krabi comes alive in its night markets. But, plot twist—each one is totally unique.
I ate my way through them so you don’t have to guess where to go. Are you looking for a party with live music? A chill spot with amazing views? Or a truly local spot with the best food for cheap? I found all three. This is your simple guide to the only night markets you need to visit in Krabi.

Quick Guide: Choosing Your Krabi Night Market

Before we dive in, here’s a quick comparison to help you find the perfect market for your mood.
| Market Name | Best For | Size | Price | Crowd | Address |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ao Nang Landmark | Entertainment & Variety | Large | $$ (Tourist) | Busy & Lively | Ao Nang Beach Road |
| Blue Mountain | Relaxed Vibe & Scenery | Medium | $$ (Tourist) | Moderate & Chill | Ao Nang, near Makro |
| Krabi Town | Authentic Local Food | Medium | $ (Local) | Mostly Local | Khongkha Road, Krabi Town |
1) Ao Nang Landmark Night Market: The Entertainer
![]() | If a night market were a festival, this would be it. The Ao Nang Landmark Night Market is the biggest, boldest, and most energetic of the bunch, designed to be a one-stop destination for an entire evening of fun. It was the first market I visited and its sheer size blew me away. Address: Ao Nang, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi 81180 (along the main Ao Nang beach road) |
Why It’s a Can’t-Miss
This market is the perfect choice for families, groups, or anyone who wants more than just a meal. It’s a great mix of food, shopping and live entertainment all in one place. It’s super convenient to have everything in one place, from drinks before dinner to entertainment afterwards, making for an easy and fun night out.

What to Expect
When you walk into the huge complex, you’ll see a big stage right in the middle. This is the heart of the market. On my first night there, an acoustic singer sang some well-known tunes, creating a relaxed vibe. Another time, the stage was full of traditional Thai dancers, their fancy costumes sparkling under the lights. I even saw a friendly, high-energy Muay Thai exhibition match, complete with dramatic music and cheering crowds.

Surrounding the stage is a massive, covered food hall filled with tables and chairs, so you never have to worry about finding a place to sit. At the back of this hall lies the main event: a seemingly endless row of food stalls.
The variety is staggering. You’ll find everything from fresh seafood grilled to order, steaming bowls of boat noodles, classic Pad Thai, savory meat skewers (also, crocodile meat!), and even stalls dedicated to international fare like pizza and kebabs.
Pro Tip: How Seating Works
- The red tables and chairs located in the large, central area directly in front of the stage are completely free for any night market customer. You can grab your food from any stall and sit here.
- All other tables, particularly those on the flanks and near the bars, require you to order drinks from the service staff who walk around. They are very attentive, but you are expected to be a customer of the bar to use their seating.

There are also a few bars around the main hall serving cocktails and ice-cold Chang and Leo beers. You can grab a drink, find a seat, and just soak in the performances. The atmosphere is electric, a constant buzz of chatter, music, and the sizzle of cooking food. It’s a fantastic, well-organised assault on the senses.
2) Blue Mountain Night Market: The Hidden Gem
![]() | After the exhilarating chaos of the Landmark market, I was craving something a bit more laid-back. A local recommended the Blue Mountain Night Market, a newer spot that felt like a well-kept secret. With its clean aesthetic and breathtaking backdrop, it was love at first sight. Address: Ao Nang, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi 81000 (inland from the beach) |
Why It’s a Can’t-Miss
| This is the place for anyone who’s into aesthetics and a chilled vibe. The whole market is set against the dramatic, jungle-clad limestone cliffs that make Krabi famous. The view alone is worth the visit. It’s less crowded than the Landmark market, offering a more relaxed and intimate experience without sacrificing quality. |

What to Expect
The first thing you’ll notice is the clean, almost boutique feel of the market. The stalls are housed in uniform white tents, giving the space a bright and airy look. The layout is thoughtful.
You get in through a bit that’s all about shopping, with stalls selling everything from cool clothes and handmade jewellery to unique souvenirs that feel more curated than what you might find elsewhere.

| As you wander further in, you’ll find the food stalls. While there are fewer options than at the Landmark market, the focus here is on quality. I had some of the best coconut smoothies of my trip from a vendor here. You’ll still find a great selection of Thai classics, BBQ, and delicious smoothies. Turn to the right, and you’ll discover a separate, spacious hall with its own stage. Here, a live band or acoustic musician provides a chilled-out soundtrack for the evening. There are small bars all around the outside, so you can grab a drink and chill at one of the many tables. It’s the perfect spot to chill out, enjoy the music and gaze at the majestic cliffs as the sky darkens. It feels less like a tourist market and more like a cool, local hangout spot. |

3) Krabi Town Night Market: The Authentic Local Experience
![]() | To get a true taste of local life, you have to venture away from the main tourist strip of Ao Nang. A 30-minute trip to Krabi Town brought me to my favorite market of the entire trip. This isn’t a tourist market, it’s where the residents come to eat, socialise and enjoy the evening atmosphere by the river. Address: Khongkha Road, Pak Nam, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi 81000 (along the Krabi River waterfront) |
Why It’s a Can’t-Miss
If you’re after amazing Thai food at great prices, then this is the place for you. With no entertainment or tourist stalls, it’s all about the food. The atmosphere is authentic, and the riverside setting is really charming.

What to Expect
| There’s no grand stage or coordinated entertainment here. The market is a bustling, linear collection of food stalls focused on one thing: feeding you well. The prices are noticeably lower than in Ao Nang because the main clientele is local. This is your chance to be adventurous. I tried dishes I hadn’t seen anywhere else, from spicy southern Thai curries to an incredible array of colorful, gelatinous Thai desserts (kanom). The air is thick with the smoke from barbecue stalls grilling fish, chicken, and pork. The market is set right along the Krabi River, in front of the town’s iconic giant crab statues. As I was enjoying a fresh avocado smoothie, I looked over the railing and was treated to a bizarre and fascinating sight: the riverbank was alive with hundreds of mud crabs and fiddler crabs, the males waving their single oversized claw in the air. It was a uniquely Krabi moment that you simply won’t find anywhere else. |

Getting here from Ao Nang is an adventure in itself. You can hire a taxi, or do what I did and hop on a songthaew (the local open-air buses) for a cheap and authentic journey. The trip is absolutely worth it for the food and cultural experience that awaits.
